Over on HBO, "The Normal Heart" got smaller overall numbers - 1.4 million viewers over two Sunday-night broadcasts - but those represent a more solid showing on the pay-cable network. Yet to be adapted in the series are "If There Be Thorns," "Seeds of Yesterday" and "Garden of Shadows." Within the 3.4 million, "Petals on the Wind" got 1.5 million adults in the 18-49 demo - a 36-percent increase on the average Lifetime movie ratings.ĭespite the drop, these numbers represent a solid night for Lifetime, which bodes well for further movies based on V.C. This represents a steep drop from January's broadcast of "Flowers," which was watched by 6.1 million viewers. "Petals on the Wind" had the higher numbers on Sunday (May 25) evening, with 3.4 million total viewers tuning in for the "Flowers in the Attic" sequel. It is rumored the network wants to adapt "My Sweet Audrina," which is Andrews' only stand-alone novel, but we'd love to see it tackle the Heaven and Dawn series. The fourth movie, "Seeds of Yesterday," however, would maybe have to be a new actress.Īnother reason we'd like to see Lifetime continue is because we would love to see Lifetime move on to other works by Andrews. She might be a little young to be Cathy in the third movie, with the right clothes and makeup she could probably pull it off. We also really enjoyed Rose McIver as the grown-up Cathy. Break out the old-age makeup and let the crazy flag fly! One of the main reasons "Thorns" would be fun is if the network could get Heather Graham to reprise her role of Corrine, who is now kind of stalking her two remaining children and their children.
